Koreans
We were exhausted (most of us). We took either train or bus or even airplanes...
For people that took airplanes, they took the shuttle bus from Yeosu Airport. Others went to Jeonnam University directly. We all put our luggage and bags in the dining room, and we went upstairs for Orientation. Until this point, it's same to every group, but from now, Group 8 becomes unique...
We didn't have our manager Cheol-min Lee. Our group was very awkward at first. Our group leader became Jae-won Han, a senior in highschool. She volunteered to became the leader, and everyone was still quiet. For minutes and minutes we were just being quiet. One of the girls named Jin Yun, was wearing an orange T-shirt, and we all thought she was our manager. But she wasn't. She was just one of us students. That's why her nickname right now is 'little-manager.'
We introduced ourselves to each other, but it was so awkward too. The introduction just consisted of name, age, where you live and it finished. But for the boys, the oldest, Chae-yoon Shin who is 23 years old broke the ice by talking to Min-sung Joo and Ha-yeon Kim by asking us if we lived abroad anywhere. Then everyone got 'infected' and was suddenly talking to each other as if they were friends since kindergarden.
We went to the cafeteria to meet our foreign buddies and we ate dinner together.
Foreigners
Sunday,
We stayed at Dreamtel International Youth Hostel that was in Banghwa station of subway line 5. We had dinner first, then we had orientation on the 1st floor for us. The orientation was given by the Head Foreign Manager, Logan. He told us about the festival and what we were allowed to do, and what we weren't allowed to do. Then, we all took a shower and slept (at least some did).
Monday,
We ate breakfast at 7 o'clock. Then, at 8 o'clock, we had a Seoul tour until 12. During the tour, we visited Changdeokgung palace which is one of the UNESCO world heritages. Then, we took turns to try on Korean traditional clothing, and play Korean traditional games like Tuho. In tuho, you have to put arrows in barrels by throwing them. Afterwards, we visited a Buddhist temple; we were lucky enough to watch a Buddhist ceremony take place during our visit.
We started our journey to Yeosu after our Seoul tour; at lunchtime, we stopped at a Ansoung Rest Stop for our lunch. We were given a coupon each. The stop lasted one hour before we properly began the 5 hour coach journey.
We (finally) arrived in Yeosu by 6pm, and went to the Chonnam University. We sat with our groups until we finally got to meet our Korean buddies properly for the first time. We all had dinner together.
We all went to our rooms after having fun with our buddies. Most of us didn't sleep until 2 am. What were we having until then? FUN (they told us to have it)
You can notice that all of the paragraphs start with the word 'we.' We wrote it that way to show the importance of everyone being united and being 'we.'
